My favorite part about Beijing was sleeping on the Great Wall. You heard me right, I slept on the wall. Well I guess I didn't technically sleep, it was more a series of naps I took throughout the night when the wind would die down. It got so quiet that I swear we could hear soldiers marching, or that was possibly my imagination from the ghost stories we told on the wall. I've now seen one of the seven world wonders, and I know why it was named one of them. It is so different from pictures and there is no way I could describe it to you, so I won't even try. We hiked up with a guide and a man from the village for protection (we found out the next morning that was why he was with us). The wind was so bad we couldn't leave our tents or they would blow away/possibly we would, but that was fine because we got up early for a sunrise hike to a part of the wall that fell down. Seeing the unrestored wall was as amazing as it sounds.
Happy Easter!
