Some Scorpians and A Summer Palace
Yes that is some scorpians on a stick
Here is your proof everyone. I did it- I ate a scorpian. So next time I see one crawling around, instead of screaming i'll probably just pop it in my mouth.
Natural History Museum
I didn't learn anything being as everything was in Chinese
Old people love dancing in the parks AND it just so happens to be the same dance routine in every park (maybe they're training for a flash dance?)
I can't tell you how much I love street food and the people that make it. They just get the biggest smiles on their faces when we speak Chinese and tell them how good their food is.

"One Night in Beijing"
[side note] This guy followed us around for AT LEAST 20 minutes taking pictures of us.
As I type this the kids are singing "One night in Beijing" over and over again to practice for their performance. The entire song is in Chinese, except for that one line, so naturally it gets stuck in your head. The first day in Beijing we discovered churros covered in chocolate, dipped in ice cream. Where have they been my whole carnival going life?
We explored a park that overlooked the entire Forbidden City, which was more impressive than the actual place in my opinion, but that could also be my sore feet talking.
That night we found this beautiful lake full of romantic dinner spots and live music bars where we got constant invites to sit. Tell me those lights aren't beautiful.

The Great Wall is pretty cool I guess
My favorite part about Beijing was sleeping on the Great Wall. You heard me right, I slept on the wall. Well I guess I didn't technically sleep, it was more a series of naps I took throughout the night when the wind would die down. It got so quiet that I swear we could hear soldiers marching, or that was possibly my imagination from the ghost stories we told on the wall. I've now seen one of the seven world wonders, and I know why it was named one of them. It is so different from pictures and there is no way I could describe it to you, so I won't even try. We hiked up with a guide and a man from the village for protection (we found out the next morning that was why he was with us). The wind was so bad we couldn't leave our tents or they would blow away/possibly we would, but that was fine because we got up early for a sunrise hike to a part of the wall that fell down. Seeing the unrestored wall was as amazing as it sounds.
Happy Easter!
